The UFC is going back to Brazil to kick off the new year. This time they're in Sao Paulo for an FX card on Saturday, January 19th. The key in that last sentence is "Saturday", which once again reassures everyone that the Friday MMA programming on FX is over.
Vitor Belfort will have the home crowd behind him as he fights Michael Bisping in the five-round main event. Bisping is looking for a title shot and a win over Belfort would certainly boost his resume. Belfort is coming off a light-heavyweight title fight against Jon Jones, but was submitted in the 4th round via americana back in September. He's already had his middleweight title fight against Anderson Silva, and you probably know how that one ended.
Co-main event pits Daniel Sarafian against the incomparable C.B. Dollaway. Sarafian was a MW finalist on TUF: Brazil, but could not compete in the finale against Cezar Ferreira because of an injury post-TUF taping.
As far as the preliminary card ... there are 3 obvious mismatches on the card, Justin Salas/Edson Barboza, Wagner Prado/Roger Hollett, and Francisco Trinaldo/C.J. Keith. everything else is solid, and I'm personally looking forward to Diego Nunes and Nik Lentz in the featherweight division.
Overall this is a good card on paper and should provide plenty of entertainment. So once again, tune in on January 19th at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT on FX for the main card, and Fuel TV + Facebook for the prelims. Here's the full fight card:
