In another Bantamweight fight on the UFC 155 FX prelims, Brad Pickett met Eddie Wineland in the Octagon. Pickett came right out throwing poewr punches, but hit mostly air. He caught Wineland coming in with a big left hook. Winleand landed hard with a right hand over Pickett's jab. Winleand rocked Pickett! He tried to follow but Brad recovered. Another, straight right from Wineland had Pickett wobbled. Pickett recovered again and landed some good shots to close the round.
Wineland had the right locked and loaded in the second. Every chance he got he threw it. Pickett did better at dodging it, but struggled to mount offense of his own. The whole round went down on the feet, both men bleeding. Wineland opened up above his eye and Pickett with a bloody nose.
Again in the third, Pickett just couldn't find an answer to Wineland's right hand counter. Pickett started working leg kicks to slow Wineland's movement, but it was too late in the fight for that. Pickett with a solid overhand right. Wineland shot for a takedown, more for show than a serious attempt. Eddie happy to ride out the decision in the closing minute of the round. Pickett tried to lunge in with some hooks, but couldn't find his mark.
Eddie Wineland earns the split decision (30-27, 28-29, 30-27) victory over Brad Pickett
