UFC 157 has added another fight to bring the total number of planned bouts for the event up to twelve. In what is likely to be one of the first few bouts of the evening a match-up between men without UFC wins has been planned as Brock Jardine takes on Kenny Robertson in a welterweight bout.
Jardine fights for the first time since June, when the Canadian made his promotional debut and suffered a lopsided unanimous-decision loss to Rick Story at UFC on FX 4. Prior to joining the UFC, Jardine, a member of the Pit Elevated Fight Team, had won three straight fights, all via stoppage. A TKO victory over WEC vet Blas Avena eventually earned him the late-notice opportunity against Story.
He now takes on Robertson, who's also searching for his first UFC win. After a 10-0 start to his career, he signed with the UFC and fought Mike Pierce at UFC 126, where he suffered a TKO loss. He then left the organization and picked up a spinning-backfist KO of UFC vet Lucio Linhares. That earned him an invitation back to the UFC, but he most recently suffered a unanimous-decision loss to Aaron Simpson at UFC on FUEL TV 4.
UFC 157 is headlined by the first women's bout in UFC history when Ronda Rousey defends her championship against Liz Carmouche.
