If you were like me, you were concerned that the UFC's downgrading of Japan's next event from PPV to FUEL TV would result in a fairly watered down overall card. Well, I'm happy to admit that I'm wrong. For a FUEL TV card, this is impressive. The main event is a light-heavyweight scrap between Wanderlei Silva and Brian Stann. Wanderlei is a favorite in Japan dating back to his PRIDE days, and Stann (like Wanderlei) is returning to LHW following a 4-2 run at middleweight.
But that's not all! The co-main event is rising HW contender Stefan Struve against the armbar master New Zealand knockout artist Mark Hunt. Diego Sanchez also fights Takanori Gomi and Dong Hyun Kim faces Siyar Bahadurzada. This is a really deep main card and not all the fights have been booked yet.
The card airs March 2nd in the US (the 3rd in Japan) at 10 PM ET/7 PM PT from Saitama Super Arena in Saitama Japan. Main card is on FUEL, prelims are on Facebook. No official bout order has been set.
