Some early betting lines are out for the top two UFC 158 bouts, and one could be seen as a surprise. The fact that Georges St. Pierre is a big favorite over Nick Diaz shouldn't shock anyone. But Rory MacDonald has opened as the favorite over the guy who gave Rory his only loss, Carlos Condit. Here's a look at both lines (via BestFightOdds):
St. Pierre (23-2) is coming off a win over Condit to unify the UFC welterweight title, and caused a lot of controversy by asking to fight Diaz (26-8, 1 NC) over consensus number one contender Johny Hendricks next. Hendricks will be meeting Jake Ellenberger on this card as well, but there's no line for that fight as of yet.
MacDonald (14-1) dominated B.J. Penn at UFC on Fox 5 and took a unanimous decision. Rory and Condit (28-6) first met at UFC 115 in a great bout. MacDonald dominated the first round and probably won the second as well. Condit made a huge comeback in the third and picked up a TKO victory with just seven seconds left.
While MacDonald is coming off a win and Condit's coming off a loss, I expected the line to be closer to even. Right now, Condit is a good bet at +145.
