According to Diego Sanchez, rumors of a bout with Takanori Gomi in Japan are true. Sanchez has been saying for a while that he was going to drop back to the lightweight division for his next bout, but it hadn't been confirmed who he'd be facing off with or where it would be. Talk of a fight with Gomi at UFC on Fuel 8 on March 3rd in Japan popped up last month, and Sanchez has apparently confirmed the news today via twitter:
The news is out SO HERE HAS IT I WILL BE FIGHTING GOMI IN JAPAN.... this is a dream of mine coming up during the pride days #dominate #yes

Sanchez (23-5) is coming off a loss to Jake Ellenberger at UFC on Fuel 1 way back in February. He has been recovering from an injury ever since. Gomi (34-8, 1 NC), the former Pride lightweight champion, has picked up two wins in a row. He most recently defeated Mac Danzig by split decision at UFC on Fuel 5 last month.
The bout hasn't been confirmed by the UFC as of yet, but if it is legitimate, you can expect it to take place on the main card.
