Shogun, Penn top UFC on Fox 5 salaries

USA TODAY Sports

The Washington State Department of Licensing released the salaries from last weekend's UFC on Fox 5 event in Seattle, and surprisingly enough, the champion that successfully defended his belt in the main event wasn't the leading earner. In fact, he finished third. Ben Henderson earned a total of $78,000 for his unanimous decision win over Nate Diaz, who earned an even 50k. Two longtime superstars and former champions, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua and B.J. Penn, led the way in salaries despite both of them losing their respective bouts. Here's a look at what everyone made:

Ben Henderson: $78,000 (includes $39,000 win bonus)
Nate Diaz: $50,000

Alexander Gustafsson: $60,000 ($30,000 win bonus)
Mauricio Rua: $175,000

Rory MacDonald: $42,000 ($21,000 win bonus)
