The heavyweights are coming to Anaheim. A late injury to Lavar Johnson derailed his UFC on Fox 5 heavyweight bout with Brendan Schaub just over a week before the card, but it looks like they've been rescheduled. The matchup will now take place on February 23rd at UFC 157, according to MMA Junkie.
Johnson suffered a pulled groin, but it's clearly not that serious if the UFC is rescheduling the bout so quickly. They tried to fight a late replacement so Schaub could stay on the Fox 5 card, but none were available. Johnson (17-6) is coming off a short-notice submission loss to Stefan Struve at UFC 146, which broke a two-fight winning streak. Schaub (8-3) is looking to erase a two-fight losing streak. He was knocked out in both of those bouts.
It's unclear where the bout will take place on the card, but the preliminary card looks like a good bet at this point. UFC 157 will be headlined by the first women's fight in the promotion's history as Ronda Rousey defends her newly-minted UFC women's bantamweight belt against Liz Carmouche.
