The biggest Strikeforce news hit a few weeks ago when Strikeforce: Melendez vs Healy was cancelled after the promotion's Lightweight champion was forced from the event due to injury. Problems hit again when former UFC Heavyweight Frank Mir got pulled from the November 3rd event after an injury in training. The November event suffers even more.

MMA Fighting has the story:

The Strikeforce middleweight champion has pulled out of his upcoming fight against Lorenz Larkin because of a wrist injury, sources close to the event told MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani.

Luke Rockhold was expected to face controversial contender Lorenz Larkin at the November event. Rockhold last defended his belt in June against Tim Kennedy. Luke had a successful defense with a unanimous decision.

The loss of one of their very limited draws in Luke Rockhold poses some very big problems to Strikeforce and their broadcaster Showtime. Last month, Showtime chose to cancel an entire event after Gil Melendez wasn't able to compete in the headlining bout. Showtime again will have to think about the November show not having an opponent for Heavyweight star Daniel Cormier or a title fight co main event.
