This post will cover live results and thoughts for the main card on FX.
The evening's main event sees Travis Browne take on Antonio Silva in a heavyweight showdown. The co-main event slot goes to a rematch between contending welterweights Jay Hieron and Jake Ellenberger. A new flyweight number one contender will be established when John Dodson takes on Jussier da Silva. And kicking the show off will be a bout between Josh Neer and Justin Edwards.
Make sure to come back during the event and share your thoughts as the event goes down.
Justin Edwards vs. Josh Neer - Round 1 - Edwards comes out hard with some punches and tries for a takedown but Neer pulls him up. Neer tries for a takedown and Edwards pulls a very tight arm in guillotine. Neer is out cold! Wow! Justin Edwards wins by submission (guillotine choke), round 1.
John Dodson vs. Jussier da Silva - Round 1 - Dodson trying to get in and then gets in a nice little overhand left. Dodson misses a punch and Jussier comes back with a nice combination. Formiga tries for a takedown but Dodson keeps it up with no problem. Their heads come together as the round ends. Slow round draws the loud boos from the crowd. 10-9 Jussier.
Round 2 - Dodson tries to get in and throw punches, Jussier catches hi with a right. Boos are steady at this point. This fight is very boring, neither guy is really doing anything. Dodson drops him and can't do anything with it, throwing weird little ineffective shots. A minute later he drops him again and this time Dodson flurries for the finish. Boring fight up until the finish, but an exciting finish is good for the upcoming title fight between Dodson and Demetrious Johnson. John Dodson wins by TKO (punches), round 2.
Jay Hieron vs. Jake Ellenberger - Round 1 - They're at a distance early that favors Hieron and he's landing a few leg kicks. Spinning back kick from Hieron misses. Hieron with a jab. Hieron with a nice long left hook. Now Ellenberger lands a nice uppercut inside and tries to flurry a bit but Hieron is able to circle away but that woke him up. Hieron tries for a takedown and Ellenberger with great takedown defense and he lands a knee of his own. Hieron with some good body kicks and he avoids some shots from Ellenberger as the round ends. Close round, but I'll go 10-9 Ellenberger.
Round 2 - Hieron with a nice little flurry early on but it's Ellenberger with a very nice takedown on the double leg. Hieron is able to create space and kick Ellenberger away and get to his feet but Ellenberger cut him up pretty good with some of the shots on the ground. The pace has slowed considerably with neither guy really getting much in. Lead hook for Hieron, but the round ends. 10-9 Ellenberger.
Round 3 - Low blow on a kick by Hieron early in the rounds. Ellenberger manages to get a takedown but Hieron bounces right up and throws a few punches. Horrible round so far and the crowd is loudly booing. Thank god this wasn't the UFC 151 main event. Ellenberger wins the fight in my eyes.
Official scorecards: 29-28 across the board. Jake Ellenberger wins by unanimous decision.
Travis Browne vs. Bigfoot Silva - Round 1 - Browne throws a big right that is blocked and then a spin kick that misses. Bigfoot with a right hand that lands. Browne with a right hand that doesn't quite get in, Silva misses a right and now Silva pins him to the cage, looking for a takedown. Silva looked like he had it and Browne grabbed the cage to prevent it and now they're at distance. Browne's knee is injured from something. He's throwing kicks at Silva's knee and Silva drills him with a big right and he's down! A few follow ups and the fight is stopped. Browne tried to get up and fell back down. Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva wins by TKO (punches), round 1.
