UFC odds roundup: Demetrious Johnson, Mac Danzig open as favorites

Tom Szczerbowski-US PRESSWIRE

The next UFC card doesn't go down for another three weeks, but the odds for some of the UFC on Fuel 6 main card fights have dropped already. In addition to that, the yet-unannounced flyweight title fight between Demetrious Johnson and John Dodson has a set line as well, and the current champion is a sizeable favorite. So, let's take a look at the newest betting lines in the world of MMA. First, here are the newest UFC on Fuel 6 odds (via BestFightOdds.com):

I'm a bit surprised that Stanislav Nedkov is such a huge underdog, but Thiago Silva is going to give him a lot of problems so I have no real problem with it. Mac Danzig's submission skills and good chin rightfully have him as a favorite (even though Takanori Gomi is my favorite lightweight of all time and he's going to knock Danzig out worse than Hayato Sakurai did!). I'm most interested in the Kim/Thiago line, and while I think Dong Hyun Kim is the better fighter overall, I'd be tempted to bet on Paulo Thiago at that price.

Finally, here's the line on the flyweight title fight:

Dodson's performance against Formiga was uneven but he did get the finish, while Johnson looked excellent against Benavidez. I'd be tempted to take Dodson just because it seems that we don't have a very firm read on the flyweight division in general, but I'm not exactly going out of my way to do it right now.

All in all, there's not a lot of enticing lines out there for MMA fans, and these ones didn't do anything to change that.
