The Ultimate Fighter moving off Fridays to another weekday night on FX

The UFC did a conference call to announce the coaches for The Ultimate Fighter 17 today, and dropped another big piece of news - the show will be moving off of Friday nights. MMA Fighting's Luke Thomas relays the info:

FX executive Chuck Safler also said that Spike "better watch their ass". An announcement of the actual weekday it will be moving to will be coming in 30-45 days according to Dana White. The show has aired on Friday nights since the Fox deal brought the show to FX for TUF 15. Ratings weren't very good for that show, even with live fights, and TUF 16 has suffered even more. Friday is seen as one of the worst nights for viewership, and pretty much any other weekday is probably going to provide a boost.

The Ultimate Fighter 17 will kick off in January on its new night with UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and middleweight Chael Sonnen as the coaches. The two men will meet on April 27th in the octagon.
