Join us at Bloody Elbow at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT for live audio and coverage of The Ultimate Fighter 17 coaches announcement conference call. The call will be streamed live on Youtube at the above link. Dana White will announce that UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and middleweight Chael Sonnen will be the coaches.
The show begins filming next week and will air starting in January. The two coaches will face off in a bout on April 27th. Jones needed some time off to heal an arm injury that he suffered at the hands of Vitor Belfort at UFC 152. Sonnen had been scheduled to face off with Forrest Griffin at UFC 155, but that bout has now been put on the shelf.
The conference call might provide some other surprises as well, since there are rumors floating around that The Ultimate Fighter might be moving to a new night on FX. We'll find out the truth in a little while.
