Former UFC featherweight title challenger Chad Mendes will look to continue his road back to another shot at the belt when he heads down to Australia in December to face off with highly-touted prospect Hacran Dias. Tatame announced the news earlier, and Mendes confirmed the bout via his twitter account:
It's official like a referee whistle! I'm fighting hacran Diaz dec 15 in Australia!

Mendes (12-1) returned from his title bout loss to Jose Aldo at UFC 148 when he smoked the overmatched Cody McKenzie in just 31 seconds. He is currently the number three featherweight in the world according to the BE rankings. Dias (21-1-1) was the number one-rated featherweight prospect in the BE 2012 scouting report. He made his UFC debut against Yuri Alcantara at UFC 147 and picked up a unanimous decision win.
The UFC on FX 6 card takes place in Gold Coast, Australia and features the finals of The Ultimate Fighter: Smashes as well as a coaches battle between George Sotiropoulos and Ross Pearson.
