Jorge Rivera is a long time veteran of mixed martial arts with his first pro fight coming all the way back in 2001. He made his UFC debut at UFC 44 way back in 2003 and has fought at least once on the world's biggest stage every year since. Tonight Rivera fights Eric Schafer in the featured prelim of UFC on FX.
It was announced at the start of the Fuel prelim broadcast that he would be hanging up the gloves after this fight, bringing to an end his 10 year run of fights in the UFC and closing out his career with 28 fights.
Win or lose, Rivera has given plenty of great action in his career and will be remembered very fondly for his fan friendly style of putting on entertaining brawls every time he steps into the cage.
We'll see if Rivera will be able to go out on a win against Schafer in just a few short hours.
