There have been a lot of questions about Gina Carano lately in regards to her MMA career, but it appears that she will be looking to fight again soon. A mysterious medical issue forced her off the June 18th Strikeforce card at the last minute, but her manager Scott Carp says she'll return to training soon and is looking to fight before the end of the year. He spoke to MMA Junkie about Carano today:
"She's feeling good," Karp said. "She's ready to get back in there and train."
After almost two years out of the cage following her TKO loss to Cristiane Santos in late 2009, Carano was scheduled to face Sarah D'Alelio on June 16th at Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum but the medical issue put a stop to that. No information has surfaced about what exactly was wrong with Gina, but it's a good sign that she'll able to get back in the gym. Her commitment to the sport will continually be challenged due to her budding acting career, but there is little doubt that she is one of the biggest draws in women's MMA and will be an asset for Strikeforce going forward.
