Bloody Elbow Radio, presented by Bad Boy, was live Thursday to discuss all the latest news in mixed martial arts. Hosts Matt Bishop, Forrest Lynn and Brian Hemminger previewed "The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale" which is headlined by the final of the TUF 13 tournament between Anthony Ferguson and Ramsey Nijem and a lightweight bout between Clay Guida and Anthony Pettis. We also talked about the announcement of the UFC welterweight title bout between Georges St. Pierre and Nick Diaz.
We were joined by the man behind Roufusport, Duke Roufus. He has two fighters fighting this Saturday in Las Vegas — Pettis and Danny Downes — and both will be making their UFC debut. We talked about those two along with thoughts on where his gym is at along with talk about Alan Belcher and Ben Askren.
We asked him what Pettis and Downes need to do to win their fights Saturday.
"They need to win the positions in the Octagon. They need to make sure they establish their game plans and also set their fight mentality up right away, too. They have to win the mental and the emotional war right away, set the tone and control the fight where they want it to go. That's the main thing. It's going to be chaotic chess. It's battlefield chess. Have to learn to think fast and move where you need to move to win the fight."
UFC bantamweight Demetrious Johnson also joined us fresh off his UFC 130 win over Miguel Torres. Torres spoke with us about that fight, his love of Xbox and his broken fibula. He also gave us his great impression of St. Pierre.
Bloody Elbow Radio returns at midnight ET/9 p.m. PT Saturday to review "The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale."
