The highly anticipated lightweight showdown between Justin Wilcox and Gesias Cavalcante was ruled a no decision after just 5:31 of action when Wilcox was the recipient of an accidental eye poke early in the second round.
Wilcox caught a kick less than 90 seconds in and took Cavalcante down, but Cavalcante quickly stood. Wilcox seemed content to keep the fight on the feet and didn't shoot until the three-minute mark. With about a minute to go, Wilcox tagged Cavalcante with a big combination and would continue to land shots to take the first round.
Cavalcante came out charging to start the second round and seconds in, Wilcox took fingers to the eye and went down in a heap. The referee deemed no foul as Wilcox was coming in on Cavalcante when the foul occured. The doctor is in to check on him and she advises the referee to waves the fight off.
The end came at 31 seconds of the second round.
