Tom 'Kong' Watson vs Murilo 'Ninja' Rua for BAMMA 6

The headline bout features a BAMMA Middleweight title bout between defending champion Tom "Kong" Watson and former Elite XC Middleweight Champion Murilo "Ninja" Rua.

Watson said: "Ninja is without doubt one of the most exciting and top middleweight fighters in the world. I am so excited that this fight will happen in London for the UK fans. I have no doubt this will be a war."

More than 835,000 TV viewers in the UK tuned in to watch Watson defend his title against Alex Reid at BAMMA 4 in one of the most talked about MMA events of 2010. The fight was also the most viewed UK MMA event of all time.

Now the crowd favourite is set to defend his belt at the UK's most iconic sporting location, Wembley.

Last month's BAMMA 5 at the MEN Arena in Manchester cemented BAMMA proved a huge success, with a packed crowd, including celebrities including Ricky Hatton, Ken Shamrock, Alex Reid and Manchester United star Darren Gibson, in attendance to see Paul "Semtex" Daley knock out DEEP Welterweight Champion Yuya Shirai in just 1 minute 46 seconds.

BAMMA 5 was the first ever UK MMA event to be televised live on non subscription TV, via Syfy, and the upcoming event at Wembley will also be televised on the same channel.

Ashley Bothwell, Managing Director of BAMMA, said: "Kong vs Ninja, England vs Brazil, Wembley Arena... This is BAMMA!"

Jamie Morris, Director of Channels UK, Universal Networks International, said: "We can't wait to bring all the action from London's Wembley Arena at BAMMA 6 to Mixed Martial Arts fans everywhere in the UK, live and exclusively only on Syfy.

"The return of Tom Watson to the ring has been greatly anticipated by MMA fans everywhere, and we know that viewers to Syfy will be in for a fantastic night of incredible live action."

With a soon to be announced stacked fight card, BAMMA 6 is shaping up to be the biggest UK MMA event to date.

Tickets are priced from £45 and are available via

Should be another great night of fights for the fast rising UK promotion. May have to go check this one out myself.
