It took a while to for the UFC 126 headliner to get going but after a slowish majority of the first round had passed Anderson Silva caught Vitor Belfort with a front kick to the chin that dropped him. He followed up with some ground and pound and quickly finished Belfort to remain middleweight champion.
It took over a minute for the fighters to exchange. Silva began throwing his arms wildly but Belfort landed first with a leg kick. Another minute. Silva charged forward behind a bunch of feints but threw nothing. Belfort leapt forward and landed a 1-2 to Silva's face. Silva threw a hight kick and Belfort threw him down. Anderson landed a knee. Vitor landed a high kick then swung hard for lefts. Then Silva threw a front kick and dropped Belfort, following it with a punch or two on the ground to finish the fight.
