The UFC is in the midst of a hot streak at the gate. In their second straight major event held in their Las Vegas home town, they dramatically surpassed the attendance of UFC 125. MMA Mania has the details:

The UFC 126 pay-per-view took in a gate of $3,605,725 on Feb. 5 from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to official figures from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) released earlier today.

The final attendance of 10,893 was a result of 9,667 tickets sold and 1,226 comped tickets.

A mere 18 tickets remained unsold.

By contrast, UFC 125 did a $2.17 million gate on 6,978 tickets sold with 5,896 comped seats.
