UFC 137: Penn vs. Diaz - Live Results and Play-By-Play for Spike TV Prelims

As with every major show, Bloody Elbow will be here to bring you live results, play by play and commentary for UFC 137: Penn vs. Diaz. Our live coverage will start with the beginning of the Facebook prelim stream (6:15 p.m. ET), continuing through the Spike TV prelim broadcast (8 p.m. ET) and finally through the pay-per-view broadcast (9 p.m. ET) so make sure to make Bloody Elbow your home for this event.

This post will cover live results and thoughts on the Spike TV preliminary broadcast.

The two fights for Spike feature some familiar faces to UFC fans. First, after missing weight by three pounds, Tyson Griffin squares off with Bart Palaszewski. Then, Dennis Siver looks to slow down Donald Cerrone in a lightweight battle. Cerrone has gone 3-0 since joining the UFC, Siver is 7-1 since 2009 making this a fight with significant ramifications in the lightweight division.

Tyson Griffin vs. Bart Palaszewski - Round 1 - Bart flicking his jab out and Griffin tries to wing an overhand right at him. Both guys moving a lot but there isn't a lot landing for either guy. Low kick lands for Griffin. Right hand lands for Griffin. Left hand lands for Bart. Big shots landing for Bart and Griffin falls into the cage. Bart landing a huge flurry and two huge shots drop Griffin to the floor, he is OUT! Bart Palaszewski wins by KO (punches), round 1.

Dennis Siver vs. Donald Cerrone - Round 1 - Cerrone throws to the body  with a kick and then Siver opens up with some punches that land. Leg kick by Cerrone and a head kick that hurts Siver badly .Siver trying for the takedown to save himself and he's still hurting. After they separate it's Siver landing two solid punches and he looks to have his les back. Big right hand by Cerrone and Siver is hurt again. Cerrone has the back now and he locks in the choke and it's all over. Donald Cerrone wins by submission (rear naked choke), round 1.
