The UFC Fight for the Troops 2 ratings are in and they're not too bad. MMA Junkie with the news:
This past weekend's "UFC Fight Night 23: UFC Fights for the Troops 2" event scored a 1.3 household rating and an average of 1.85 million viewers. The event also peaked with 2.5 million viewers.
The most recent "Fight Night" event, "UFC Fight Night 22: Marquardt vs. Palhares," scored an average audience of just 1.2 million viewers in September.
I'm not sure if there was any boost provided to the event by the Facebook stream but I don't know that Melvin Guillard or Evan Dunham are that much more recognizable than Nate Marquardt to fans to get them to tune in. This could be due to what seemed to be increased advertising on Spike in the days leading up to the event or possibly just because there was very little by way of opposing sports going up against Fight for the Troops 2.
Either way, it's a nice little ratings rebound for the UFC and hopefully one that carries forward.
