Here's another champion talking about moving up in weight class and taking on a big money fight. Urijah Faber talking to Fighters Only:
Top WEC featherweight Urijah Faber would be interested in moving up to lightweight to fight some of the big names - including BJ Penn.
He is also keen to get a rematch with UFC lightweight Tyson griffin, who is the only fighter to hold a win over Faber.
"I'd like to do a couple fights at 155," he told MMA Weekly, explaining that he would be looking to fight "whoever has the belt".
"My buddy B.J. (Penn) just went up to 170, so I don't know if he's planning on going back to 155 or what, but I'd have to talk with him and see if that's something he'd want to do also."
After beating Jens Pulver, Faber has pretty much cleaned the WEC out of marquee opponents. He' s been pretty vocal about wanting to go to Japan and fight Kid Yamamoto, but its obvious that moving to the UFC lightweight division is a much more feasible thing. Faber's ultra-talented, no doubt, but he'll have to step up his game considerably if he's going to avoid the beating he took from Tyson Griffin in their first match.
