If this report is true, UFC is trying to do a deal with Fedor for one fight to come in and fight Randy. Color me extremely skeptical.
However, the real story is how short sighted The UFC is. In his haste to condemn Fedor, Dana has failed to see the potential in Fedor as a huge name. If he comes in and completely crushes Randy, a true possibility, he will have a huge name on his hands that completely lived up to the hype. Really, the best possible outcome for The UFC would be for Fedor to win that fight convincingly at the start of a long term contract. They need new big stars, and he could be it. It's too bad Dana is too stubborn to see what's in front of his face.
