Chris Wilson Taking Pay Cut to Fight For The UFC

Hard to believe, I know, but true. Notable quote:

Wilson, who attended Mountain View High School in Vancouver, will be the first fighter to make the jump from the International Fight League to the UFC. Wilson left the IFL a year ago to become a free agent. He fought twice for Bodog last year before being approached by the UFC.

"I've never had a thing for or against the UFC," he said. "It's always been a matter of taking care of my family, and the other contracts I signed paid a little better. The UFC is a bit of a pay cut actually, but it is a great opportunity right now."

This is probably a case where a talent like Wilson means more to the IFL than he does to the UFC, so the IFL is willing to pay more to keep him. Apparently, though, they didn't pay him enough. The guy is taking a pay cut to fight elsewhere. That's rough.
