A Tip from the Hand Grenade

Marcus Davis sez while discussing his KO win over Jason Tan at UFC 72:

"As soon as he started throwing those kicks, I knew he was making a huge mistake because one thing you never do is throw a kick without throwing a punch first," said Davis, who has become a true student of the mixed martial arts game since ending his boxing career in 2000. "The punches set up the kicks, because the kicks are too easy to see. I knew I was gonna be able to walk right through them and I was gonna catch him. And that one time I hit him with the straight left, it looked like it shook him up pretty bad. I knew right there that it was just a matter of time just to land a good shot."

Got that kiddies? Never throw a kick without throwing a punch first. You BJJ guys in the back -- pay attention.
