UNCONFIRMED RUMOR: Tank Abbott vs Kimbo Slice OFF

Sprawl N' Brawl noticed this thread on the UnderGround (where WhoopAss Radio is located) that's saying the Cage Fury Fighting Championship 6 show on October 12th is off. The main event of that show is supposed to be Tank Abbott vs. Kimbo Slice.

Notable MMA figures such as Joey Odessa and Kirik Jenness say in the thread their understanding is that the show is canceled. I've tried to contact the promoter of the event, but his inbox is full. No reason has been provided for it's cancellation. Stay tuned for further details.

Update [2007-10-3 16:11:10 by Luke Thomas]: According to the Fight Network, CFFC 6 is still a go:

Cage Fury Fighting Championships promoter Felix Martinez dispelled rumors today that his promotion had cancelled CFFC 6 "Unleashing The Fury" Friday, Oct. 12 at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, N.J.

"The show has not been cancelled," Martinez said.

Martinez believes rumors of the event’s demise coincide with the news that CFFC’s deal with iNDEMAND Pay-Per-View had fallen through recently. The show will instead be carried live on the Web, according to Martinez.

"We just lost the iNDEMAND deal," Martinez said. "I can’t get into [specifics], but we had an investor who backed out."
