Mark Fischer led the UFC Fight Night 34 post-fight press conference in Singapore along with stand outs such as Hyun Gyu Lim, Tatsuya Kawajiri, Russell Doane, Max Holloway and Royston Wee. Headliner Tarec Saffiedine was being checked out by the doctors following the fight, and didn't make it to the presser. They said the same for Lim, but the tough Korean still decided - with the help of his cornermen - to slowly walk over to the presser and answer questions following the war he just had in the cage.
Seen above are BloodyElbow.com's photos from the presser, and below are a few quotes from the fighters following the fight.
Lim: "There was talk about stopping the fight in the fourth round. But my cornermen kept me going and I tried my very best in the final round to come back. It was a tough fight and Tarec hurt me bad in the second and third round. I think I was a bit too nervous and eager to prove myself in the early rounds"
Kawajiri: "To be completely honest with you, I was really nervous starting out tonight so my performance was a little tight in the beginning and that was kind of embarrassing. The real Tatsuya Kawajiri is way better than this. To all my fans out there, thank you for your support!"
Holloway: "The fight went perfect. We went down to the ground but I managed to get back on my feet, and make it a stand-up fight. At no point was I going to get myself into a situation where I might lose by submission. Will Chope has good jiujitsu. He came out and tried to take me down which is what we were prepared for. We've been working on my the takedown defense in training."
Wee: "The feeling of fighting in front of your home town crowd is simply unbelievable. I have done nothing but train for this day over the past few months and I can’t believe it’s over. Its been an incredibly journey but this is just the beginning and I hope to become one of the top Asian fighters one day."
Doane: "I feel great. It was a perfect match, everything went according to my game plan, and Leandro Issa was the perfect opponent for me and I wish him all the best."
