As reported earlier, 'The World's Tallest Will Chope (19-5) has signed with the UFC and will be making his debut at UFC Fight Night 34 in Singapore. Although he initially received a bout agreement to face Bekbulat Magomedov, he won't be competing against the unbeaten Russian prospect as the fighter still had contractual obligations to fulfill with RUFF. Magomedov will have to complete his one-fight deal when he faces Chinese star Wang Guan next weekend, and this forced the UFC to find a new opponent for Chope.' in
As the fighter confirmed with BloodyElbow.com on Thursday, Chope now has signed on for a new match up, and he will be welcomed to the UFC by Hawaii's Max Holloway (7-3) as part of UFN 34 line up in Singapore.
Holloway has had 6 fights with the UFC, going an even 3-3 with the promotion with wins over the likes of Leonard Garcia and Justin Lawrence. He has lost his last two bouts though, dropping decisions to Dennis Bermudez and Conor McGregor making this bout against Chope a must-win for the Hawaiian.
Holloway is one of the taller fighters in the division, but on this case he clearly won't have his usual reach advantage when he faces the 'Lanky Madness'. Standing at 6-foot-4, Chope has made a name for himself in the Asian MMA scene, winning a URCC title and recently claiming the biggest victory of his career when he trumped the current FW King of Pancrase in Takumi Nakayama at PXC 41.
