A preview of the UFC 161 main card women's bantamweight bout between Alexis Davis and Rosi Sexton.

The second bout on the pay-per-view broadcast of UFC 161 is a women's bantamweight bout between Alexis Davis (13-5, 0-0 UFC) and Rosi Sexton (13-2, 0-0 UFC). The bout is the fourth ladies matchup in UFC history, and the first to feature either a Canadian or British fighter.

Davis won her last two bouts in Invicta, submitting both of her opponents and picking up bonus checks for her efforts. Sexton is on a three-fight winning streak, most recently taking a decision over Aisling Daly last June. Davis currently sits in the # 6 challengers spot of the UFC official rankings at 135 lbs, while Sexton is unranked. The UFC 161 PPV main card starts at 10pm ET/7pm PT.

Sexton: 35 years old | 5'4" | 63" reach

Sexton: W - Aisling Daly (UD) | W - Rosy Modafferi (UD) | W -Sally Krumdiack (TKO)

How did these two get here?

Davis made her MMA back in 2007 in Canada and steadily worked her way up to earning a Strikeforce contract in 2011 with a 9-4 record. She won two straight fights there before getting matched up with fellow Canadian Sarah Kaufman. The two ladies went to war in one of the better fights of 2012, but it was Kaufman that was given the decision. Davis moved over to Invicta where she won two straight, and was brought into the UFC to make her debut in her home country.

Sexton has been competing in MMA all over the world for over a decade now. Her only two losses came to Gina Carano in 2006 and to Zoila Gurgel in Bellator in 2010. A three-fight winning streak in Cage Warriors earned her a UFC contract, and she'll try to get ahead by beating Davis.

Why should you care?

Davis is an action fighter, and both ladies are good on the ground. It's an interesting test for both of them.
