USAT/SBN August 2010 MMA Consensus Rankings: Featherweight

#1 Jose Aldo will defend his WEC title against #2 Manny Gamburyan at WEC 51 in September.

USAT/SBN July MMA Consensus Rankings: Featherweight

#1 Jose Aldo will defend his WEC title against #2 Manny Gamburyan at WEC 51 in September.

USAT/SBN June 2010 MMA Consensus Rankings: Featherweight

Another division with no major movement in June. The biggest deal was probably #7 Marlon Sandro making short work of #10 Masanori Kanehara at Sengoku Raiden Championships.

USAT/SBN April MMA Consensus Rankings: Featherweight

Last month I promised a lot of shakeup in April and nothing could be truer. #1 Jose Aldo defended his title against #3 Urijah Faber in a dominant performance at WEC 48: Aldo vs. Faber. While there was some fan disappointment at Aldo's inability to finish The California Kid, there is no doubt who the top dog is in the division.

USAT/SBN May 2010 MMA Consensus Rankings: Featherweight

Now #1 Jose Aldo defended his title for the first time against #3 Urijah Faber at WEC 48. Aldo looked positively sensational in the bout, easily routing the California Kid while leaving the Team Alpha Male member unable to walk for days with damage left from brutal leg kicks. No word has yet been made official by the WEC.

USAT/SBN March MMA Consensus Rankings: Featherweight

#1 Jose Aldo will defend his title and position as the 145lbs fighter in the world on April 24th as the WEC makes their first foray into the pay-per-view market. He'll defend his title against WEC poster boy #3 Urijah Faber in Faber's hometown of Sacramento, California.

USAT/SBN February 2010 MMA Consensus Rankings: Featherweight

Nothing changed from last month, Nova Unaio still stips atop the featherweight division. There's been only a fair amount of movement since WEC 44 when #1 Jose Aldo wrestled away the title from #2 Mike Brown. But matters are about to change. The WEC has announced WEC 48 where #3 Urijah Faber will challenge Aldo for the featherweight crown. He earned his shot after stopping #6 Rafael Assuncao.

USAT/SBN January 2010 MMA Consensus Rankings: Featherweight

Novia Unaio still rules the day. Since WEC 44 in November, there hasn't been any reason for the top spot to change as #1 Jose Aldo hasn't competed.

USAT/SBN January 2010 MMA Consensus Rankings: Bantamweight

Georgia MMA rolls on, but its featherweight king faces his biggest test at WEC 47 in March. I'm talking, of course, of #1 Brian Bowles who still reigns over the bantamweight division after crushing # 2 Miguel Torres at WEC 42.

USAT/SBN February 2010 MMA Consensus Rankings: Bantamweight

#1 Brian Bowles is still the bantamweight king, but faces a stern challenge in #4 Dominick Cruz at WEC 47 on March 6th. Cruz, the Alliance standout, has dramatically improved his technical and strategic game while some believe Bowles achieved his place in the sport due to nothing more than #2 Miguel Torres' defensively poor aggression. Bowles will earn points as a stable champion with a clear defeat of Cruz.
