UFC president Dana White was a bit riled up on his latest video blog, defending some criticism against the debut of The Ultimate Fighter on FX.

The UFC has released a new preview video for UFC 144 in Japan featuring Frankie Edgar vs. Ben Henderson.

"The Fireball Kid" will return to Japan and now has an opponent for UFC 144.

Reports have Mark Hunt vs. Cheick Kongo as the latest addition to the UFC 144 Japan card.

According to a report from MMAFighting.com's Daniel Herbertson, the UFC has finally wised up to the realities of promoting an event in Japan. It was originally suggested by UFC President Dana White that the UFC Japan card, scheduled to take place at Saitama Super Arena on February 26, would act as a prelude to a stateside pay-per-view, but sources have confirmed that the UFC has nixed that approach

UFC President Dana White has talked consistently over the years about how the UFC will remain progressive in its approach to gaining popularity worldwide. The promotion has made huge strides to expand internationally, transcending cultural boundaries that other sports like football, baseball, and basketball have only been able to do at a minimum.

Dana White says the UFC will run two events at the same time in February - one in Japan, the other in Las Vegas. And that this simultaneous event idea will continue in the future.

After months of speculating whether the UFC was serious about heading back to the Land of the Rising Sun, UFC Asia marketing director Mark Fischer officially announced yesterday that the UFC will hold an event on Sunday, February 26th at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
