In his first interview since UFC 101, Forrest Griffin talks Rampage Jackson, Anderson Silva, future opponents, and (not) being a role model with MMA:30's Dave Farra (quickly becoming my favorite MMA interviewer).

"I am going to fight before 2010. There's no doubt about it," he told MMAWeekly.com. "I have to get a fight in. I think it will happen and hopefully against someone tough." "I have to stay more active," said Florian. "I can't be taking almost nine months off between fights and then try to fight somebody like B.J. Penn. I have to be more active than that. "I always come back stronger after a loss, and I believe it will be the same this time around. I want to get back there." Kenny Florian tells MMA Weekly that he plans on fighting again before the end of the year. He doesn't mention anyone specific, but Guida, Edgar, or Uno might be interesting options.

UFC 101 Buyrate Likely to Exceed 1 Million Last week’s early estimates of UFC 101 have been confirmed. We’ve had three different systems of six we’ve gotten reports on real numbers that reported the second best numbers, behind only UFC 100. The others did right at or just below other the big three of late (Couture vs. Lesnar, Griffin vs. Evans and Penn vs. St. Pierre). One national cable estimate was at this stage between 800,000 and 900,000 buys. Trending patterns indicate numbers higher than that, and if it was the same as the big three before UFC 100, or better, as indicated by the few direct numbers we have, it could top 1 million since UFC 92 hit that figure and 91 and 94 were just below. Tamdan "Barn Cat" McCrory Released by the UFC "After a disappointing loss at UFC 101, Tamdan McCrory was released today by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). McCrory, was 3-3 in the UFC, with an overall record of 11-3." "Leading up to his most recent fight, McCrory had expressed concerns over continuing to cut to 170 lbs. Visibily drained at the UFC 101 weigh-in, the effects of the weight cut seemed to carry into the fight as the performance was lacking for the usually exciting McCrory." "With his layoff from the UFC, McCrory will look to gain experience and build size to perhaps fill his 6’4" frame into the middleweight division. At only 22 years of age, an eventual return to the UFC is more than likely." HT: the UG
