Scouting Report Update: Weekend Results - May 6th-7th, 2011 Alumni from the 2011 World MMA Scouting Report swept the board this week, posting a perfect 4-0 combined result. In Leemore, California, bantamweight Frank Sharipov (pictured) put on a takedown clinic en route to a decision victory over Tommy Vargas, while TPF Featherweight Champion Isaac DeJesus got back on track with a knockout of tough local challenger Russ Miura. Jussier "Formiga" da Silva (7-0), widely considered the top 125-pound fighter in MMA, has signed a four-fight deal with the California-based Tachi Palace Fights promotion. Sherdog's Jordan Breen first broke the news on Thursday afternoon. Needless to say, this is great news both for Tachi Palace -- which has long promoted the sub-155 weight classes, dating back to its previous incarnation as World Extreme Cagefighting -- and the Brazilian, who resorted to soliciting donations from fans on the internet in order to cover travel fees for his last match. While Formiga's first bout for TPF has yet to be determined, Breen reports that Alexis Vila (8-0) and Danny Martinez (13-3) are in the running. Photo by Guilherme Cruz for Tatame.
