Scott Coker, on Sherdog's "The Savage Dog Show," joked about which changes not to expect from him after the sale of Strikeforce:

Strikeforce Press Conf at MSG: Strikeforce announced Wednesday that they will be holding a press conference at the WaMu Theatre inside New York City's Madison Square Garden on July 14 to hype the August 15 fight between Gina Carano and Cristiane Santos. The event is also open to the public.

Call me crazy, but I think that this is a historic moment for Strikeforce, mixed martial arts and, more specifically, women's MMA.

Think about it: did you ever think that a promotion not named the UFC would hold a press conference at MSG with the main participants being two female fighters? I sure didn't.

"He's obviously entitled to his opinion, but we're disappointed that Benji is trying to take away from what was such a great fight," said Smith's manager, Mike Roberts of MMA Inc.

CBS and Showtime play-by-play veteran Gus Johnson leads a team that includes EliteXC/ShoXC commentator Mauro Ranallo, "The Fight Professor" Stephen Quadros, Frank Shamrock, and decorated MMA veteran "The Croatian Sensation," Pat Miletich. For April 11, the team will consist of Johnson, Ranallo, and Miletich, who has done commentary on Fox Sports Net and HDNet.

Will BE Staff Freak Out When WAMMA Top Member Announces for Strikeforce? Is WAMMA Slowly Taking Over?

No Overeem In UFC Anytime Soon: I called Strikeforce promoter Scott Coker and asked him. He said Overeem is under contract to DREAM for several more fights and Strikeforce uses him as part of regular fighter swaps the companies do. As a result, I don’t expect to see Overeem in the UFC soon.
