Scott Coker, on Sherdog's "The Savage Dog Show," joked about which changes not to expect from him after the sale of Strikeforce:
"I’m not going to change just because I work for Zuffa now. People say I’m going to start dropping F bombs and yelling at people. That’s not going to change. I’m still the same guy and I love what I do. It’s been a great thing for me too."
Some transcribed quotes from Dana White on UFC's purchase of Strikeforce -
"We need more fights. Let’s face the facts Strikeforce is a brand that fans have come to like. They do have a following and people enjoy the fights they are putting on. It made sense to us." Dana White on the Strikeforce promotion
"Probably not and here is the thing and I said this 50 times during this interview. I don’t want to make anybody feel uncomfortable over there, That’s Scott Coker’s deal and he runs that show, Its business as usual. If we didn’t own the company you wouldn’t see me hanging out over at a Strikeforce event. And you probably won’t see me now that we do." Dana White on if he will attend a Strikeforce event.
"Its business as usual." The main Dana White talking point form today’s announcement.
Yes, Yamamoto is off the May 15th card.
I know that we’d received a request from Dream to put ‘Kid’ on the (May 15) card and at that time we felt we should oblige. I think they had some changes in Japan with their format for May 29 and so I think he’ll be fighting in Japan on the 29th.
"We have been in contact with [Josh] - very loose contact, not serious contact, but he is something that would be interesting for sure."
"I think the California State Athletic Commission and Josh Barnett will work their issues out and once he has done that then maybe we will be a little more interested in Josh."
