Roger Huerta is Back in Thailand.... Huerta's last fight (besides the famed beating of the man who had just punched a woman) was with Eddie Alvarez. Recently Roger has been working on a project with Fellow MMA Fighter Mike Swick - in Phuket, Thailand. This will be no doubt change the MMA scene in Thailand, and probably the Asian scene. Roger Huerta returns to cage, but not without risk: Mere rumors of Huerta's asking price -- which, according to sources outside the fighter's camp familiar with the negotiations, included a $250,000 signing bonus -- was enough to keep Dream, Japan's top promoter, from making an offer, said its U.S. representative, Mike Kogan. "This is MMA, not the NFL," Kogan said. Bjorn Rebney, the Bellator's CEO, declined to disclose the terms of his deal with Huerta, though they're believed to be considerable. ... Roger Huerta talks Bellator: "Bellator provided me with a sense of security," Huerta told Sherdog.com on Monday. "I control my own destiny in the tournament. The winner gets to face one of the best lightweight fighters in the world -- that’s the goal. If I lose, then it’s my fault. It’s on me and I can deal with that." Huerta enters the eight-man bracket alongside unknown commodities Chad Hinton, Ferrid Kheder, Mike Ricci, Janne Tulirita, Carey Vanier and returning season-one finalist Toby Imada. The eventual tournament winner will bank $100,000 over three bouts ($10,000/$10,000; $15,000/$15,000; $25,000/$25,000) during a 12-week span and will also earn the opportunity to challenge Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez in the fall.
