Chael Sonnen's finally got a date with NSAC.
According to what Kizer has told ESPN, Sonnen will appear in front of the NSAC on April 27th to re-apply for both his fighter's license and second's license, AKA a cornermen's license.
But why the whole commision?
"I don't feel comfortable granting his licenses based on his background. I feel the issues surrounding him are important enough for him to go before the full commission. That way, the commission will be able to discuss the issues that arose with respect to his last bout in California, as well as his recent criminal conviction."
Sounds to me like Mr.Kizer is going to make an example out of Mr.Sonnen. Sonnen is a highly visible star that brazenly lied to a state commission about his PED use and his dealings with Mr. Kizer and the NSAC. A strong message will have to be sent to other fighters that fighters will be held accountable regardless of their standing with big commission benefactors like Zuffa. Mr. Kizer, this is that opportunity, don't waste it.

NSAC executive director Keith Kizer says the commission will soon revisit its drug-testing policy:
The NSAC has been at the head of many rule changes to discourage drug use said Kizer, including switching wins to ‘no contests’ when a fighter tests positive for banned substances.
According to Kizer, the last significant meeting it held on drug-testing policies was in September 2008, when it was determined that urine testing was the most effective, accurate method.
However, the process of blood testing has been developed since then — including the first positive test for HGH by a British professional rugby player in February this year.
Those advancements have fell under the NSAC’s consideration and Kizer said the commission would likely revisit its drug-testing policy as early as next month.
"It’s never not been under our consideration, it’s an ongoing thing," Kizer said. "Urine testing is better for testing everything except HGH. Blood testing, until recently, hasn’t been perfected.
"We held a public meeting in 2008 where we overlooked a lot of material. Now, it’s 18 months later and we need to revisit it. It could be expanding our urine testing or adding blood testing. Something could happen, hopefully, next month."

Penn Rule" that will allow the referee to foul fighters for excessive use of a substance that is deemed illegal. "In a meeting held Wednesday in Las Vegas, the NSAC approved language prohibiting the use of foreign substances on a fighter’s body prior to or during a fight that "could result in an unfair advantage. Dubbed by a commission official as the "B.J. Penn Rule," the use of foreign substances will now be added to a list of "fouls" in the Nevada Administrative Code that address tactics illegal to fighters, such as eye gouging, small joint manipulation, or biting."
