Shigeki Uchiyama had his ear partially severed last night at the Pancrase: Passion Tour 5 event in Japan. Uchiyama was handily winning the fight against Makaya Takita when he attempted a takedown that got both fighters tangled in the ropes, and ended with a chunk of of his ear laying on the mat. It appeared that Uchiyama's already-swollen ear got caught in the vertical lines connecting the horizontal ring ropes. The fight was immediately waved off and awarded to Takita as a TKO victory.
