This is the first professional wrestling match Karl Gotch had in Japan, back in 1961 against Michiaki Yoshimura in the JWA. It would be 10 years later that Gotch returned to Japan to put over upstart Antonio Inoki in the first New Japan Pro Wrestling show, and set forth in motion the beginnings of what would become Japanese MMA.
