Dan Hardy responds to Jon Fitch's UFC release
The UFC dropped a bombshell today with the release of former Welterweight contender Jon Fitch. Many fans lashed out at the promotion's decision to retain fighters with worse records recently. Dan Hardy, who was kept on the roster after losing 4 consecutive fights, was a prime target. This is how Hardy responded to that criticism.

UFC welterweight Jon Fitch posts a picture of himself shortly after waking up from shoulder surgery this morning. The surgery is expected to keep him out until close to the end of 2011. Another pic taken shortly after is here.

Carlos Condit tells MMA Junkie he was offered a fight with Jon Fitch, but wants some time off and then, possibly, Chris Lytle or Diego Sanchez:
"It just didn't work out as far as timing went. I didn't think I was going to be able to get a long enough camp in for Fitch for the time period that they were wanting me to fight."
"I think (Chris Lytle) would be a great fight. Lytle always comes to put on exciting shows, and that's obviously what I like to do also."
"I wouldn't be against (a fight against Diego Sanchez). Honestly, I think Diego's going back to 155, but if they wanted me to fight him, and the incentive was there, I would do it. They'd have to do it here in Albuquerque and make it a big old thing."
