Fight Hub TV sent it's fight correspondent Marcos out all over the LA area to talk to current boxing fighters, promoters and trainers as to what they think about James Toney fighting Randy Couture at UFC 118! Promoted to the front page from the FanShots by Luke Thomas. You can see among boxing's movers and shakers there is still quite a bit of fondness for Toney. They clearly realize the odds are against him, but they would love nothing more than to see him flatten Couture. And if he does, make no mistake, you're going to hear about it for a very long time.

Sorry about the audio difficulties in the opening minute of the video. The video was shot with a Panasonic camera (one not made specifically for video) A transcript of the first minute is below ULTMMA.com: Talk about the difference between being a coach and being a dad. Where do you draw that line? Randy Couture: Well Dad doesn't really play into to it in this situation. You have to stay objective and do your job. You're his eyes and ears in a lot of ways on the outside. He's got a good crew of guys here at Xtreme Couture. We've been working a lot on his kickboxing. He's ready to. He's worked hard. It should be fun. ULTMMA: Watching him in the ring, do you see similarities to yourself? What do you see that is different? Couture: He's got a unique style. Obviously he's fighting at 155. He's finished most of his fights by submission. He's a very good submission guy. He's got a decent wrestling background. His striking is pretty good. If, I were to categorize him he would be a submission guy. --- Couture does give a nice breakdown of James Toney’s stand-up skills as they relate to MMA and he reveals which member of Xtreme Couture has been assigned to imitate Toney during training camp. Chad Dukes Talks MMA Training for NFL Athletes With Jay Glazer "Jay Glazer is a great ambassador for MMA. There is no more mainstream sport than that of the National Football league & the NFL is how Glazers earns his wage. He was on with us last week to update us on Fat Albert Haynesworth. I had a chance to not only ask him if mixed martial arts training would benefit Haynesworth & his failed physicals, but get some skinnny on Randy Couture’s upcoming bout with the constantly obnoxious James Toney." Bernard Hopkins: "I think James Toney is going to get his ass kicked." "For real. James Toney is out of his league... When you step out into a situation where, against a legend too in his own sport. I believe, and I'll go on the record, that the best MMA guy or UFC guy go up against the best boxer in the world in their arena, in their arena gets their ass kicked. I don't care who it is, whether Floyd, Pacquiao, Bernard Hopkins, they get they ass kicked. That is not what we do." On MMA fighters crossing-over to boxing: "This is a different different arena, I'm not trying to say he won't have any moments, but listen when that instinct come in when one guy is used to taking a guy down or used to using his forearm or shin or whatever, hey man you take that away that's like taking a lion's teeth out, he's no longer a lion."
