Give me a pick, between the fight against him and Shane Carwin who's undefeated in that UFC heavyweight fight." Austin: "Ahh, you know Shane comes from a wrestling background as well as Brock, but I don’t see that he has Brock’s quickness, strength, or explosion. I think Brock is going to out-quick him. Now the Mir-Carwin fight really surprised me, Mir’s a badass, I think he went in with the wrong strategy and I was really surprised, not surprised but when Carwin exploded on him with those right-hands it was just devastation. And I look for this to be a slugfest and Brock’s chin has never been tested, I don’t think. The guy is tought as nails but hands-down I’m going Brock Lesnar all the way. And I just bought the last pay per view, I pick Rashad Evans before that, I picked Rua. So I’m getting pretty good at making my picks, I follow the sport intensely and I basically get every pay-per view there is and they’ve been putting some pretty good fights together."

MMA Nation Warm-Up: Why Is MMA Nation So Often Preempted? This was taken about 20 minutes before what was supposed to be our show time on Sunday evening. The reference I made to part 1 was another video where I took odds on how soon my show was going to be preempted with the news McNabb signed with the Redskins. I don't want to belabor the point about fitting MMA into sports channels and news mediums. I think it's clear where I stand. And the McNabb signing to the Redskins is both aberrational and special to this market. But it is worth considering how those in management elect to use their time. If you are a program director, you have choices to make. So, my only hope is that MMA fans understand what's required to move the needle on the sport such that it's a bigger priority for producers, editors and program directors.
