It seems that Takanori Gomi will indeed be making his return to ADCC competition, as he is among the names on an initial list of competitors for the 2011 ADCC Asia Trials. Former ADCC competitor Tetsu Suzuki is set to compete as well. Suzuki finished fourth in the 66kg. division at the 2007 ADCC World Championship, losing to Leo Vieira in the semifinals and again to Baret Yoshida in the third place match. DEEP x Real King grappling tournament winner Kohei Yasumi and 2010 143lb. Shooto Rookie champion Yuta Sasaki are also among the list of competitors announced. Kyra Gracie: i hurt my lower back at the worldsin june, so i stopped for a while,but when i started training hard hurt again... now..i cannot bend over.... its hard to sleep ...imagine to compete

"I injured my lumbar region at the Jiu-Jitsu Worlds in June. I did a lot of physiotherapy and adapted my training. I was feeling well, but this week in New York I trained hard and worsened it. It is impossible for me to fight like this. I can’t even find a comfortable position to sleep in"
"I’m frustrated, no doubt. It’s really bad to be left out of an event of the proportions of the ADCC. Even more so since I’m the only woman with two titles in the event. I was confident I would win my third title, but I will have to postpone my dream"

ADCC Brazil executive secretary Wagner Gomes confirmed to Gracie Mag that Ricardo Arona will not participate in ADCC 2009 (September 26-27 in Barcelona, Spain) due to his commitment to the September 12th Bitetti Combat card in Brazil. Arona (13-5) will return to the MMA ring against Marvin Eastman (16-9-1); it will be his first fight since being knocked out by Sokoudjou at PRIDE 34 over two years ago.
