A year ago, we selected the inaugural class of fighters that would make up the first edition of the World MMA Scouting Report. It's been a gratifying experience to see some of the athletes we selected go on to succeed in major fight opportunities, and a heartbreaking one to see others come up just short.
theScore Fighting Series has announced three match-ups for their upcoming card on June 10th at The Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ontario: Antonio Carvalho vs. Douglas Evans Josh Hill vs. Roland Delorme Joe Doerksen vs. Luigi Fioravanti Carvalho was ranked at #1 on the 2011 World MMA Featherweight Scouting Report after returning to the sport in March of last year and picking up wins over Eddie Fyvie and Juan Barrantes. theScore Fighting Series is a mixed martial arts promotion operated by Score Fighting Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Score Media Inc. The series can be seen on theScore on Thursdays at 8 pm ET and Saturdays at 1 pm ET. Individual fights are also available under the MMA section on theScore.com.
According to MMAJunkie.com, Strikeforce has signed Quinn Mulhern, the #8-ranked prospect on the 2011 World MMA Welterweight Scouting Report. No word yet on an opponent, but the article states that he may appear on June's Strikeforce Challengers 16 card.
Bellator Fighting Championships has signed #3-ranked middleweight prospect Vitor Vianna (10-1-1) from BloodyElbow.com's own 2011 World MMA Scouting Report. The two-time World Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion and second-degree black belt is the head Jiu-Jitsu trainer at Wand Fight Team in Las Vegas, Nevada. He'll join a division that features talents such as Bryan "The Beast" Baker, Alexander "Storm" Shlemenko, and Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard.
