Tito Speaks His Mind - Part 2

Tito Ortiz says he made 8 million dollars in 11 years fighting for the UFC. 50% going to taxes. He also says Dana White made 24 million just last year in the UFC and has never fought in the cage. Watch the video for more.

Update [2008-5-5 15:34:24 by Nick Thomas]: Here is Part 3. It's not up on YouTube yet.

Re: Tito Speaks His Mind - Part 2
And how is this different from eveyone else on the planet Tito?  I know the presidents of all the companies I ever worked for never risked their necks doing the jobs I did and still made 200x more money than I ever did (though I have never in my life made a tenth of what you make Tito).  Besides you had the opportunity to make Dana earn some of that money in the ring and you punked out.

There's nothing quite like people bitching about their millions of dollars not being enough.

Re: Tito Speaks His Mind - Part 2
I think what Tito is missing is the part about how he signed that contract and agreed upon it. Now, after what many perceive to be a loss to Forrest, the TKO to Liddell, and the draw with Evans, Tito simply isn't the draw he once was. Yeah, Tito is one of a handful of names casual fans will pay to see. But if you really look at the numbers Tito needs the exposure of the UFC much more than the UFC needs him. If he goes out and decisively beats Machida, then I say shut the fuck up and negotiate with the UFC in a realistic fashion. If that happens, he'll become an extremely viable commodity to the company once again and deserve more money. If not, then he can go and fight for EliteXC or Affliction and make well over a million a fight until those companies go out of business from paying him. Tito has a massive point that many fighters are abused financially and I don't think any fighter in the UFC should make less than $5,000 to fight but if he thinks he's worth multiple millions of dollars a fight when he's proven that he can't beat top guys than he's simply mistaken.
