The First Four Months of 2008 in Pictures

NBC has a nice collection of pictures that capture some of the highlights and lowlights we've seen in the sport in the first four months of 2008.

Who ever put this photo round-up together for NBC sports seems to be on the ball.  There is a great shot of Paulo Filho's tatoo of Mike Tyson.  It makes me laugh every time I see it.

It feels weird to see fair & balanced journalism for MMA. They actually discussed multiple orgs & didn't favor 1 particular "brand". Maybe by 2009, we'll get more of that from mainstream outlets. A boy can dream . . .

It's kinda silly, though.  It would be like splicing in pictures of minor league games with the major league games in a baseball photo gallery.

I don't have the patience or time right now to lay out the differences between a minor/major league relationship contrasted to the mma profile but hopefully someone else will or you'll realize they're completely different on your own.

I know they're different.  I was just making a jab at the fact that the non-UFC promotions are of a lower class.  It's more like an NFL/CFL relationship or to stick with baseball, it's like MLB and the Japanese leagues.

Hey, they have a rule here about not insulting your fellow commenters.  Maybe you should consider following it if you're going to continue to comment here.

I don't care how much you tell someone their argument sucks, no name calling. It's a simple rule and will go a long way towards promoting good conversations and disagreements.

I'm loling with you.  Wow.

The Nog and Mirko pics are awesome.  The Brian Stann photo almost brought me to tears.  Big props to Doug Marshall.  Nate's arms up display I didnt like at the time, but that pic is priceless.

Funny though, it's called "The first four months of MMA", but all the pics are from US promotions?  Wasnt Dream held twice this year?
