I was extremely...unimpressed with this piece.  Gina came across well, but the people talking about her had no idea what they were talking about, and it came across really badly.

Re: Video: Gina Carano on ESPN's "E:60"
I agree.  This just seemed like a... fluff piece, for lack of a better phrase.  But then again, I wasn't expecting an Oscar caliber documentary.

What the other women were saying, the part about only Gina getting attention, is sort of true.  Regardless of how she's getting the attention, the bottom line is she steps into the ring and fights, and that's what really matters.

Sure, Carono deserves the respect, and sure she is undefeated, however,  no one but Tara Larosa(15-1, 12 wins in a row) should be talking down to her.

Re: Video: Gina Carano on ESPN's "E:60"
Not even Tara should be talking down to her. If Tara wants to say "Gina is unproven and based on what I've accomplished, I'm the best in the game today" then that's fine. But taking shots at her for being sexy? C'mon honey. If Tara Larosa was half as good looking as Gina Carano she probably wouldn't be saying that. that's not a shot at Tara but a simple fact. As a fighter you need to not only perform in the cage but be able to market yourself as a viable commodity to the public and Gina's sex appeal helps. If she was a pretty face with no talent she wouldn't be in there. She happens to be a pretty face who can fight and that makes for an extremely marketable individual. All Tara Larose needs to do is keep winning and wait for her shot to take out Gina Carano and simply make sure she shows up game that night and gets the job done or else she's going to truly eat her words.

You know a debate on gender issues is going well when someone uses "C'mon honey" in their argument.

Re: Video: Gina Carano on ESPN's "E:60"
I love the E:60 coverage of MMA.

MMA has a loong wasy to go.
Women's MMA has an even longer way to go. Gina makes a good embassador and the negativity around here is normal, especially from the other women athletes. It's the way of things.

Re: Video: Gina Carano on ESPN's "E:60"
LoL Simco. I'm all for womens MMA, no doubt about it, it's just a simple fact that Larosa has proven herself, and so has Carano to an extent. I just have different views when it comes to those 2 lady's. All the hype is on Gina for the simple fact that she is absolutely gorgeous and competes in MMA. Larosa has proven herself, and Gina still needs to prove herself(in my eyes), but in the eyes of many she is already "The best Female MMA Fighter", and to maintain that I think a matchup with the two would be right on for Gina to prove she's what she's made up to be.
