Quote of the Day 2

"BJ, I've seen him broken. In the second fight with Hughes when he was caught on his back and eating those punches and elbows he was just flopping around like a fish out of water. That was a guy that didn't want to fight anymore. I've seen that in a couple of fights where if the fight is not going his way he kind of just says, `F_k it. I don't really care.' You can see it in someone's face.

He's not really fooling anyone with his talk. Maybe that's what he uses to motivate himself but I'm not going to quit. He could be punching my face and I'll come back and get back at him. I've been in so many wars. Look at how many back and forth fights I've been in and I've never given in,"

-- Sean Sherk, reaffirming his claim he's going to break the will of B.J. Penn at UFC 84. Win or lose, Sherk sounds extremely pissed.

Re: Quote of the Day 2
this is gonna be a good fight. I hope something like one of them getting knocked out in 30 seconds doesnt happen cause this has the makings of a war

Re: Quote of the Day 2
Man, I just had a terrible thought -- the last fight that had this much shit talk before it was the infamous Diego vs Koscheck "bout".
I don't see either Sherk or Penn fighting a puss match like that one but its something to worry about...

Re: Quote of the Day 2
My greatest fear:  Sherk cuts in the first exchange and the fight gets called.

Kenny Florian's little dagger elbows had to have left tons of scar tissue on Sherk's face and you saw how quickly Penn split Joe Daddy wide open.  I really think I would just sit in front of the TV and weep if that happened.

Re: Quote of the Day 2
As long as the fight is called and BJ wins, I'm pretty okay with a cut ending the fight. I generally hate when that happens, but I'm pretty jazzed about BJ winning this one.

Re: Quote of the Day 2
I think we could witness two of the best staredowns of all time at UFC 84. Wanderlei always make it a good one but Jardine is as ugly as hell and looks like Satan so that'll be nice.

And B.J. and Sherk will be awesome.

BRING IT ON BITCHES!

Re: Quote of the Day 2
Sherk punches like a girl and Penn is throwin cinder blocks. I see it being a very ugly affair for the Roid Shark

Re: Quote of the Day 2
Don't forget the Tito/Dana staredown.  Damn, this really should be a good staredown show.

I know this is only marginally on topic, but I think Sherk's greco strategy is going to fail badly if that really is his plan.  We all know the stories of Randy Couture having serious trouble taking Penn down, and I think it's very doubtful that he will be the one dominating the clinch position.  BJ actually held his own in the clinch against St. Pierre for a lot of their fight, and he is going to be in much better shape for this one.

Re: Quote of the Day 2
Very true. I always pick skill over strength in any fight, even if it's a bad move. Maybe that has something to do with me being more of a nerd than a natural athlete, but I always want to root for the guy that's got the best techniques. And while Sherk obviously has a great chance to beat BJ (recent studies show that contrary to previous info, advantages from using steroids continue on long after their use is discontinued) I WANT BJ to win. Cheaters may sometimes prosper, but that doesn't mean I can't wish they didn't.
